Like Ernst Jandl, Austrian poet Gerald Bisinger (1936–1999) belonged to the generation of poets coming after the Wiener Gruppe (1954-1964), an important Austrian avantgarde collective of concrete and visual poets, conceptual artists, collagists and performers. In a PDF document collecting some of Bisinger’s poems, Italian writer Maurizio Spatola described Bisinger as the “Poet with Many Qualities”, in reference to Robert Musil’s Man Without Qualities.
