Color is a high frequency, says composer Halim El-Dabh in this film, and he seems indeed to navigate quite freely from paint to sound. The film includes an excerpt from a rehearsal of The Dog Done Gone Deaf (graphic score shown in previous post), for saxophone, violin, oud, double bass, piano, vocals and percussion – interpreted by Quebecker musicians including Jean Dérome on sax, Malcolm Goldstein on violin, and Sam Shalabi on oud.
